Firewire Cables
So-called "FireWire" is actually Apple's own name for the IEEE 1394 High-Speed Serial Bus, which was used as a high-speed data / digital audio connection standard between 1997 - 2012. Sony called their implementation the i.LINK, and although both versions have been largely replaced by the more-common USB, there are still some pro audio and high-end devices that utilise FireWire, most notably because it has a higher data transfer rate than USB 2.0, but not quite as high as USB 3.0.
Audio Sanctuary are official stockists of AudioQuest cables, who still manufacture premium quality FireWire cables for us in audio applications. Order online, contact us or visit our London showroom.
