DAC Advice

DAC is an acronym for Digital-to-Analogue Converter. This describes the process by which a digital data stream (for instance from an MP3 Player or a CD Player) is converted into an analogue audio signal, ready for amplification.

An essential part of almost all modern Hi-Fi systems, DACs are becoming more present as separate, stand-alone units. Both the technology itself and the terminology used to describe them can be very confusing, especially if you are new to the world of audio.

If you are not sure about your asynchronous USB, 24/192, adaptive transfer mode, clock, digital pre-amplifier, jitter, or timing, then please do not worry - you are not alone.

The Audio Sanctuary team are well-versed in all manner of DACs. Indeed we get to listen to many different designs on a wide range of electronics, and through plenty of different loudspeakers - we can happily advise you as to their sound, and you are most welcome to visit our showroom and listen for yourself.

For any & all DAC-related questions, please do not hesitate to contact us via email or telephone, and we will be happy to assist you.
